Dani and Christian are a young American couple with a relationship on the brink of falling apart. But after a family tragedy keeps them together, a grieving Dani invites herself to join Christian and his friends on a trip to a once-in-a-lifetime midsummer festival in a remote Swedish village. What begins as a carefree summer holiday in a land of eternal sunlight takes a sinister turn when the insular villagers invite their guests to partake in festivities that render the pastoral paradise increasingly unnerving and viscerally disturbing. From the visionary mind of Ari Aster comes a dread-soaked cinematic fairytale where a world of darkness unfolds in broad daylight.

  • Beautiful, but will damage you!

I was literally grossed out and MAD at the film afterwards. It’s not a thriller... it’s sick “horror” in horrified. Seduces you and then makes you ill. Resist the temptation to find out why. Walk away.

  • Well done

This movie was visually stunning. I left the theater thinking what the hell did I just watch. It’s not bad by any means, but leaves you feeling some sort of way that sticks with you afterwards; kind of like his last work Hereditary.
  • Directors Cut!

Saw both versions in the theater--very glad that the Directors Cut is available here (it isn't on Blu Ray)---it's ultimately the only version you need to see!! The 'first cut' feels very incomplete comparitively, no going back!
  • Incredible that a movie can be so bad

Usually I can find something in a movie to make it worth my time but by far the worst movie I've ever seen. It is a total waste of time.
  • Lot to chew on

Breath taking, skull splitting, sun drenched primal fear.

This movie gets more and more disturbing as it goes on, and you can't help but to keep your eyes glued to the screen.
  • Sick movie made by sick people.

I don’t know what the producer and scenarist were thinking about when they decided to make this movie. Sick, sick.
