Description

Meet FLEABAG. She’s not talking to all of us; she’s talking to YOU. So why don’t you pop your top off and come right in? A hilarious and poignant window into the mind of a dry-witted, sexual, angry, porn-watching, grief-riddled woman, trying to make sense of the world. As she hurls herself headlong at modern living, Fleabag is thrown roughly up against the walls of contemporary London, with all its frenetic energy, late nights, and bright lights, in this very modern mix of fatalism and hedonism, sustaining a merry-go-round of broken dreamers. Unfettered and unfiltered, Fleabag tears through the series sleeping with anyone who dares to stand too close, squeezing money from any orifice, rejecting anyone who tries to help her, and keeping up the bravado all along. Because that’s just the kind of f****d up, normal person she is. By turns hilarious and heartbreaking, this is the thoroughly disarming confessional of a woman so totally detached, she’s utterly lost, and ultimately wondering what the hell she ought to be doing in life. Much like the rest of us.

Such a fantastic series. Original, witty, and absolutely hilarious. I immediately became obsessed and have binged series one and two repeatedly since then.

Started watching this because of the Hot Priests appearance on the Graham Norton show in the U.K. and Paloma Faiths glowing review of the show that I had to check it out without having great expectations. Sat down on Sunday evening and didn’t leave my couch until 2:30am because I had to see how it all ended. It is without a doubt the absolute funniest show I have seen in years. The vibe between season 1 and 2 is a little different but her boyfriend Harry and the big reveal at the end of the season make the first season really good. There are so many scenes in season 2 - the restaurant, someone’s haircut, the church scenes, how the show ends, i have replayed a lot of the show since Sunday and I am still laughing out loud. The supporting cast are perfect. Olivia Colman is a hoot as the annoying Godmother. Her sister Claire and her husband are perfectly suited. And lest we forget about the Hot priest. Ahhhhh....would love a third season but I get it now why she wants to keep it at 2....but I’d still love a third.....

Cute but doesn’t really pull you in. And totally a story that’s been told over and over with the exact presentation- aka B Jones Diary. So it’s nothing new and very easy to forget.
