In the high-tech gold rush of modern Silicon Valley, the people most qualified to succeed are the least capable of handling success. From HBO and the offbeat mind of Mike Judge ('Office Space,' 'Beavis & Butthead') comes this comedy series that delves into the outrageous world of tech start-ups and the socially awkward underdogs trying to navigate its lucrative potential. In Season 1, the show charts the rising fortunes of Richard, an introverted programmer who lives with his best friend Big Head, pompous Gilfoyle, and sarcastic Dinesh under the roof of self-satisfied millionaire Erlich who lets them stay for long as he gets a 10% cut of their projects. With his career going nowhere fast, Richard suddenly finds himself in the middle of an extreme bidding war over his website's unique compression algorithm. Thomas Middleditch, Josh Brener, T.J. Miller, Zach Woods, Kumail Nanjiani, Martin Starr, Christopher Evan Welch and Monica Crew head up the cast.

Silicon Valley, Season 1 Movie Reviews

  • Tech nerds perfect show

    By DRKbadger
I love this show! A must own.
  • Better than the Walking Dead!

    By Yorick Delano
As much as I love Office Space and can watch king of the hill over and over again, THIS show is Mike Judge's masterpiece! It deserves to go down in history as one of television's greatest like the Sopranos before it!
  • DULL

    By Prophet Amos
I tried, I simply could not get into it. I had to stop watching after the third episode. I did not laugh at all, the main characters are not likable, and rather boring. Judge did his best work on OFFICE SPACE, and IDIOCRACY, those you have to buy.
  • If you didn't give this show a 5 - watch it again.

It's fantastic. Every character is perfection! The comedy is brilliant in every way. I will watch this show over and over forbthe rest of time!
  • Excellent, tech savvy show

    By Darantares
As an IT professional and geek, I have a hard time finding shows that I can watch past one or two episodes, let alone the entire season. I've watched Silicon Valley season one four times now, and it's just as great with each viewing. Loads of fun!!
  • Not for everyone

    By JasonGr
Sure this show isn't for everyone. It is for the truly nerdy...I get it, the jokes are racist, the jokes are sexist, but they are funny and deal with things that anyone in the industry had had to deal with...sure it's not 100% reality, but it really is pretty close.
  • no women?

    By cynsa
I’ve watched four episodes now and there appear to be no women in this show except one stripper and a PA. I’m a principal engineer at a software company and there are plenty of women who are coders like me. What universe does Mike Judge inhabit, 1972? That explains the hairstyles, too. The writers seem trapped in a time bubble.
