Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey, Season 1 Movie Reviews

  • So Very Good

    By Christoph Jones
It's rare to watch a tv show of this caliber. Cosmos provokes as many questions as it provides answers. Neil is a brilliant host; the way he challenges cognative bias and institutional blindlness is as if with a steel fist and velvet glove. If you're listening, he shares so many things at once. The production value and music are so ... Seth. A brilliant marriage of production quality, content and intellectual provocation. As spiritual and awe inspiring as anything I've ever expereienced.
  • A Breathtaking and Exciting Science Documentary Series

    By "Ollie" Knox
This TV series is fantastic. Truly wonderful. "Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey" is a modern followup of the original show, "Cosmos" that was narrated by Carl Sagan and written by him. This series introduces the latest discoveries and theories, as well as some less concrete hypothesis and general idea. The writing style for the show is more dramatic in that it tells hard scientific concepts, and some even controversial conjecture. A wide range of topics are covered from moving forward through the history of science to pointing out many less-well known sights. Neil deGrasse Tyson is a fantastic as a host and storyteller who conveys a powerful expression when talking about the simplest concepts. "Cosmos" is a very amazing to anyone who has an interest in science that pertains to humans interaction with our world. Highly reccommended.

THE BEST! Period! Thank you Carl, Ann, and Neil! The original Cosmos was fantastic! Would love it if iTunes offered the original. This version is equally great! Can’t wait for Cosmos 2019!!!

Thanks for presenting information on Cosmos in such a beautiful manner. It's very important for a child and every human being to know where we stand and through this show Neil deGrasse Tyson tells the story. I simply loved it! I have watched the full episode and I am going to watch it again and again with my husband.

Best astronomy tv show for all ages groups to enjoy. I’m twenty years old and I still come back to this. I have learned a lot from this, and it made physics and astronomy so much easier for me to understand.
  • Great content with hidden message

    By Abdo Zozo
This is a great show in terms of content, but the host tries to convey messages that constantly calls for atheism. I don't know how believing in science necessitates being atheist and not believing in a creator who created this huge universe. In many parts and episodes of the show, the host's justification for some formations is "nobody knows". However, the divine revelation tells clearly the reason. "Allah disdains not to use the similitude of things, lowest as well as highest. Those who believe know that it is truth from their Lord; but those who reject Faith say: "What means Allah by this similitude?" By it He causes many to stray, and many He leads into the right path; but He causes not to stray, except those who forsake (the path)" Quran: Chapter1, Verse 26

I came here & bought this on itunes after streaming the whole season on Netflix. Neil deGrasse Tyson is too good. If you're debating whether you should buy this or not, just do it. A beautiful overview of the history of the universe & life on Earth. It's very entertaining and it filled all the holes in my knowledge of the history / recent history of science.
