Bestselling author Tim Ferriss ("The World's Best Human Guinea Pig." - Newsweek) pushes himself to the breaking point, attempting to learn notoriously punishing skills—surfing, professional poker, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, parkour, languages, etc.—in just one week each. Filmed and edited by the team behind Anthony Bourdain (Zero Point Zero). In every episode of The Tim Ferriss Experiment, Ferriss partners with the world's best and most unorthodox teachers (e.g. Laird Hamilton, Marcelo Garcia, Stewart Copeland), who train him for a final gauntlet. Shocking breakthroughs, injuries, epiphanies, and disasters ensue. In cases where he succeeds, Tim shows you how to replicate his results. The mantra of the show is "you don't need to be superhuman to get superhuman results…you just need a better toolkit."

The Tim Ferriss Experiment Movie Reviews

  • BJJ - The test is rigged

    By Monty with a Y
I was really looking forward to seeing this episode but found myself yelling at the TV due to the obvious dishonest nature of the final BJJ test. Anyone who has ever rolled before knows that the final test of the this episode what a complete lie. The opposing grappler is giving Tim his neck and there is no way he would actually hit those submissions if the opponent wasn’t a willing participant.

  • Awesome

Not only is it thoroughly entertaining and at times even suspenseful, it's also highly educational. Tim does a great job of explaining the process for which anyone can "learn how to learn." I got a lot out of this, and I highly reccomend it.

The Cal Fussman Podcast was so fantastic that I had to spend 15 minutes to refresh my skills on rating a podcast! I always listen, and subscribe to a few podcasts, but rarely rate them because it is not easy from the app. Tim Ferriss you do a fantastic job - Keep up the great work! THANKS FOR EXPANDING MY(frankly narrow/limited) HORIZONS!
  • simply awesome

  • Wham Bam Thank You Tan Damme

So happy these shows didn't end up buried somewhere. Cannot say enough good things about the episodes just fork over a the price of your next craft cocktail. Get ready to be blown away by the kind of guy who use to get behind the stick back at the bars when Bartenders had life advice and were respected as much as Doctors and Lawyers. Alright that's not saying much but let's just say that here's a series with some sage advice. Tim, I think you maybe taking a cool turn towards teaching others a bit more about the present and just appreciation in general. You've been killing it for so long. I'm sure you'll be back at it hacking all other aspects of life but I dig the current Podcast theme I seem to be seeing. The wife and I are gearing up to cast off the lines and begin an 8 to 10 year circumnavigation Aug 23rd 2016. You were saying you've got a friend who is on a similar course or at least living aboard up in SF. Any chance if you would mind asking them if they're open to a few questions from someone who has a wife and 2 small girls that are part of my equation?
  • not very good

    By Mr. Clever
I purchased this because Tim offered some great bonuses. I soon discovered why the season never finished running on cable television, even though it switched networks. It’s neither interesting nor educational. I didn’t learn anything except that there are no shortcuts. Also, I didn’t connect with Tim on the show and wasn’t invested whether he succeeded or failed in his objective, which made it a pain to watch. Somebody mentioned that he didn’t really learn the drums. I agree. Playing along with another drummer doesn’t count. It’s like having a fake steering wheel on the car you’re “driving” while a real driver with a real steering wheel does the work. Want proof? Look at Tim on the downbeat of the drum performance. Didn’t even get that right. I get it, he was nervous, but let’s not say he did better than he actually did just because it’s a TV show. You don’t get a medal just for showing up. I think he’s done some amazing work, but don’t fool yourself into thinking you can shortcut everything, outsource everything, and have true mastery in only one week.
  • It's easier his way

    By Perkocet311
It's few and far between that a person shares the easiest path is accepted! This guy shows the easiest path with good concentration to nearly everything. What I love is he talks to people, picking their brains, like its him and I talking over drinks about something we both are interested in
  • Super actionable, inspiring advice!

    By Jason Blevins
Amazing insights. You must watch this if you have any interest in running/starting your own business. Hey Tim, you’re podcasts are often hilarious and always enlightening to say the least. I’m a huge fan! You talk with Noah about building an email list. You talked about building a large audience from scratch. And in the Chris Sacca episode you said, “there are many paths to amassing incredible fortunes and being a founder is actually a pretty thin slice of that pie”. You look to find the minimum effective dose in just about everything. Do you have any advice or previous posts/podcasts that discuss the MED on making more money? You’re work is definitely improving countless lives, including mine. Thank you! Jason
  • Drummer, for real?

    By Markmark 35
He never really did learn the drums. The original drummer played the song.
